Sunrise Wrangle - E/L Ranch, Montana
The difference between catching this moment and sleeping in hinged on my partner's kind voice, reminding me that I wanted to capture the morning wrangle. Sleepily, I peeped out the window of our cabin and saw the sky and then heard the distant sounds of hooves. With my heart pounding with excitement and nerves of knowing I had 20 seconds before the horses would be gone, I sprinted to the fence-line with my camera and the only lens I could find and fired off three frames, of which this was one. THE one. It was magical.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
For the camera buffs, the lens was a Canon 85mm 1.2L, which is a gorgeous portrait lens and focuses hella slow. It's the last one I would have chosen, but for this morning, god am I grateful for it.
