In perfect fashion, a summer thunder storm rolled itself overhead while I was planning to meander around the swamp. I should thank the storm for keeping me away from the alligators, it was mating season.
Lucky for me the clouds broke right at sunset and the cluster of bald cypress trees, like ancestral spirits, stood tall against the backdrop.
